Meketa Capital, a new subsidiary of Meketa Investment Group – the investment consulting and fiduciary management – has unveiled board members and added equity ownership.

Meketa Capital has agreed with East Bay Merchant Partners, the investment arm of the Widger family office. Ashley Widger, through the entity AEW, has become an equity owner and growth capital provider to Meketa Capital. Michael Bell, CEO of Meketa Capital, has also become the equity owner of the firm.

Meketa Investment Group will continue as majority owner of Meketa Capital, it said in a statement yesterday. 

Formally launched earlier this year, Meketa Capital markets and distributes investment services and products to RIAs and other financial intermediaries in the retail marketplace. The firm’s offerings include managing and distributing interval funds, and in the future may include delivering model portfolios, managing customized private market fund vehicles, and providing other investment services.

Meketa Investment Group’s client assets under advisement represent about $1.8 trillion as of September 30, 2023.

Raymond James
Raymond James has welcomed financial advisor John Willey to its independent advisor channel.

Prior to this, Wiley worked at Edward Jones, where he previously managed about $123 million in client assets. 

The founder of VistaCrest Financial based in Abilene, Texas, Willey is joined by client specialist Meagan Noles.  

Willey launched his career in the financial services industry at Goldman Sachs, Nationstar Mortgage and PrimeLending before becoming a financial advisor at Edward Jones in 2018. He is a Certified Financial Planner and holds the Chartered Financial Consultant and Certified Exit Planning Advisor designations.
